Sorrowful Night

Sorrowful Night
He longed for her gaze of pity,
On a lonely sorrowful night,
To him she was beautiful like a beacon amidst the dark,
She shone to him like a silver star in a clouded night,
Her eyes hid sadness and pity for him,
Among their sapphire light,
The hands of her race were blood stained,
And yet her innocence captured him,
Her beauty eluded him like the dawn's now coming light,
And he wiped away a meaningless tear,
On a lonely sorrowful night.
