Filia is one of the main characters from Slayers Try and is one of the priestesses of the Fire Dragon King, Karyouh. Her mission was to set out to find a powerful sorceress to stop the coming of Dark Star. When Luna Inverse declined the offer she suggested that Filia ask her sister Lina to do it. To make sure Lina helps Filia she her a letter telling her to just do it or else. (Lina is scared to death of her sister.)

As a Golden Dragon she has the ability to change from a human form to an adorable gold dragon. She has a temper that rivals even that of Lina's especially when Xellos is concerned because she hates him for what he had done to her people in the Kouma war. When Valgarv comes into the scene he goes off on how the Golds murdered his kind. At first Filia finds it hard to believe him but after the gang visit a temple of the Ancient dragons Filia finds out what Valgarv said was true and is devastated. She couldn't believe her kind could do such a horrible thing and because of this she gives up her priestess hood. Filia feels a deep sympathy towards Valgarv and can't stand to see him suffer.

There are countless times when Filia attempts to suede Valgarv from summoning Dark Star and when it seemed she finally got through to him it was to late for he was merged with Dark Star as one being. They were forced to kill Dark Star to save their world but Filia was reluctant because if they killed Dark Star they would kill Valgarv as well. After much convincing from Lina, Filia merges her power with the others and destroys Dark Star. Afterwards everyone is saddened because of Valgarv's sacrifice, especially Filia, but when it seemed all hope was lost a tiny egg floated down from the sky into Filia's hands. The egg was Valgarv reborn. Filia decided to raise Valgarv to atone for her race's sins.
